Paul Warden With its iconic 'coke bottle' styling, hidden headlights, dual round tail-lights, the 1968 Dodge Charger R/T is one of the best-looking muscle-cars of its time. While the baseline Charger could be ordered with the 318 or 383 motor, the R/T package came standard with the 375 horsepower 440 Magnum motor, and the 426 hemi was the only optional power plant.

Back in 1976, I was 18 when I bought my first car, a '68 Charger with the 318 motor. It had been repainted 'Petty blue' and it wasn't that fast, but I had a lot of fun in it with my buddies, and my wife and I dated in that car. I sold it a just a couple years later, but I always wanted another one.

In 2001, I found this car and bought it from the original owner, Doug Panter. Doug kept it in very good shape, and saved all of his records including bill of sale, window sticker, build sheet, and time slips from the Puyallup Drag Strip. Over the years I have done some work to it to repair some worn-out components and bring it back to its full glory.
